Good Perking duck! Make sure you call at least one hour ahead if your want to get duck for your meal. They have lunch entree specials Monday through Friday. They also have see menus if you cannot decide. We had a large party ordering off the set menu on a weekend and they were able to add some extra entrees off the lunch menu. If you want lobster as well check with the server they may have to make a market run to get some fresh. Duck traditional style has really skin. The meat is tender though it could be a bit more fatty. You get 10 pancakes to wrap your duck with with 'pre us at extra cost. It looks like these pancakes are packaged that way from their vendor. The fried fish filet with coconut and garlic is tasty and light and crispy. Sweet and sour pork Shanghai style is juicy just watch for bones. Ample parking on their small lot. Inside has one private room plus four big tables for parties of 8-10 in the main room plus a couple smaller 4 person tables. There's also a patio outside dining area. Make sure you use the Yelp check in!
Only 5 minutes away from our house. So we always come here for Peking duck three ways. Delicious food and great service.
Wow Factor Alert! Have you ever taken a bite that made you feel like you just won the food lottery? That's the magic of Duck House! If you're not ordering the duck, you might as well be missing out on life itself! My taste buds have danced through the doors of this culinary gem so many times, I've lost count. I find myself here for every occasion--from birthdays to random Tuesday cravings! And let me tell you, the whole duck served with those delicate pancakes and crisp scallions is pure, unadulterated bliss. It's not just a meal; it's a celebration on a plate! The ambiance? Plenty of seating with spacious banquet tables perfect for family feasts or lively gatherings with friends. Parking is a breeze with a massive lot right in the heart of SGV, and the location is a piece of cake to find, just off the main drag. And pro tip: don't forget to order the duck ahead of time! Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this star of the show. Each visit, I challenge myself to try something new, and every single dish has been a revelation! From the tender filet mignon to the rich fried rice and flavorful noodles, everything here is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. As long as that glorious duck is on the table, you know your taste buds are in for a wild ride! If you're craving juicy, crispy, and downright tender Peking duck, Duck House is the place to be! I swear, I've visited countless times and have never had to wait--how lucky is that? So gather your friends and prepare to share, because this place is made for feasting! And let's talk about the service--absolutely top-notch! The staff is always so attentive and eager to ensure your experience is unforgettable. Even on their busiest nights, they manage to keep my glass full and my belly even fuller. I can't wait for my next special dinner at Duck House; it truly feels like a culinary homecoming each time!
It was yet another birthday celebration with the whole family. We ordered two Peking duck dishes. They refry the duck skin so it's super crispy and they thinly sliced the duck meat so you can pile everything on a light pancake with all the fixins: thinly sliced cucumber, green onions and the sweet sauce. It was pretty good. We also had fried and sauces tofu, which were ok. Crispy noodles with pork, eel with sticky rice, and beef with onions. All pretty good. I'm not sure which style of Chinese food this is, but everything was slightly sweet. The servers were expedient and food was cooked really quick. The bathrooms were clean. The parking lot was way small but there's plenty of street parking right around the corner. Worth a try but not particularly spectacular.
Came here to celebrate dad's retirement! Wanted to get something special, so we got the course menu for 4. The duck bone soup was subtle and warm with hint of duck in the stock, firm tofu, and cabbage. No lobster the day we came, so it was replaced with steamed black cod, which was silky. Stir fried bean sprouts with were crunchy and somewhat acidic, although not as much duck meat as expected. The filet mignon in black pepper sauce was exquisitely tender and mildly spicy. The traditional peking duck was the star of the show! Crispy duck skin, duck meat, cilantro and cucumber wrapped in thin pancake and sweet sauce was diiiivine. Crispy coconut sago ball was a pleasant dessert to end with, with a viscous cream that explodes in your mouth. Will try again and hopefully have lobster next time!
We've tried several restaurants specializing in Peking Duck in SGV... and this one is our absolute favorite. The skin is incredibly crispy, and the meat is always tender and juicy. We also appreciate the delicate, thin pancakes that accompany the duck. What makes this place even more special is the variety of other outstanding dishes on the menu. The angel hair shrimp is always a hit, as are the steamed whole fish and the crispy squid. We're also big fans of the hot, spicy, and sour sole fillet with sauerkraut soup, though it might not be for everyone. The ambiance is traditional and upscale, adding to the overall dining experience.
I don't often feel the need to write reviews, but I couldn't help but to for this establishment. Every dish was delicious in it's own way that it was hard to choose a favorite. The sesame noodles had a perfect texture and balanced flavor, and the other two dishes, especially the duck wings, were also flavorful. The decor was also very classy and cultural. What's more was that our server Shelly was so nice and friendly to us! At the end of our meal, she even gave us a complimentary Jello dessert. We will definitely be coming back.
(+) Peking duck (+) chiu chow style steamed seasonal whole black cod (+) HK style sweet & sour pork rib The duck house is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in Peking duck. The duck must be ordered an hour before your dinner. There are a variety of Chinese dishes that are well recognized. Since the menu is quite extensive, there is a set-menu that can be ordered for 4, 6 and 12 persons. A parking lot is available for visitors and on the street if the parking lot is full. Beer, sake and wine are also for sale. Food/Drink: My group ordered the set menu for 6 persons. The amount of food is plenty and we had leftovers. My favorite was the steamed black cod and the HK style sweet and sour pork ribs. What I enjoyed about the cod is how tender the fish is. The sauce was light and flavorful. The sweet and sour pork ribs was also yummy. The crispy pork with the sweet and sour sauce added a beautiful balance to the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and could have used a bowl of rice too! The peking duck was also tender and I enjoyed the tortilla and scallions/cucumber mixture with the hoisin sauce. Service: The staff was helpful and they made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I would recommend Duck House. I do not have very much experience with duck, so I thought they did the peking duck well. I enjoyed the other dishes where I would come back.
Came back after the pandemic for a Chinese New Year dinner - their Duck 3 Ways is still an excellent value : for a little over $100, you get a large plate of crispy skin duck meat, bean sprouts sautéed in duck sauce, and a duck soup. That said, I feel their food quality has gone down somewhat and the service was a bit rough.
